Introduction
One of the best ways to improve your knowledge base is through suggestions from your users. AutoKB includes a feature that allows your users to
submit suggestions for articles that they would like to see in the knowledge base. This document contains information on how you can manage those
suggestions through the control panel.
Viewing Suggestions
To see all of the suggestions that currently exist in the database, click on the Manage Suggestions link in the control panel interface. The page that comes
up will show you all of the suggestions that have been submitted. You will see something that looks like this:
- This is the unique ID number that has been assigned to this suggestion
- This section contains information about the suggestion
E-mail This is the e-mail address of the user that suggested this, followed by their IP address in parenthesis
Category This is the category they feel this article should be in
Suggestion This is the suggestion that the user submitted
- These are the actions that can be performed on this suggestion
Click on the
icon to e-mail the user that suggested this.
Click on the
icon to create an article based on this suggestion.
Click on the
icon to delete the suggestion.
Creating an Article
To create an article based on one of the suggestions, click on it's

icon. AutoKB will pop up a window where you will be
able to create an article based on the suggestion. The category will be pre-selected based on the suggested category, so be sure to change that if you
do not want to use the suggested category. Once you have created the new article, the suggestion that you created it for will be related to that article and will appear
like this in the manage suggestions interface:
Note that the suggestion now has a new field labeled Created Article with a green background which gives the ID number of the article that was created. You
also no longer have the opportunity to create an article for this suggestion. If you click on the article ID number it will take you to the article management
interface displaying only that article.
E-mailing the Submitter
If you would like to contact the individual who submitted the suggestion, click on the

icon. If no article has yet been created
for this suggestion a window will pop up with an empty e-mail message body. However, if you have created an article for this suggestion the full URL to the article
will automatically be placed in the e-mail message body so you can let the user know where to find the article.
Deleting a Suggestion
To delete one of the suggestions, click on it's

icon. A javascript confirmation window will pop-up asking you if you are sure that
you want to delete the suggestion. Press the ok button to confirm that you want to delete the suggestion. AutoKB will remove the suggestion from the database
and it will no longer be visible.
