Managing Administrators

Introduction

With AutoKB you can have multiple administrators each with their own privileges. This gives you the opportunity to allow several people to create and manage the artciles while not being able to access other features of the control panel. This document will describe how you can create and manage administrators through the control panel.

Adding An Administrator

To add an administrator, click on the Manage Administrators link in the control panel interface. You will be taken to the administrator management interface. Near the top of the page you will find a button that you can click on to Add an Administrator.

Once you are on the administrator creation page you will see a form that you will need to fill in. Each of the form fields is described below. Once you have filled in each of the form fields with appropriate values, press the Add Administrator button. AutoKB will add the new administrator to the database and they will be able to access the control panel with the username and password entered. You will be able to manage all of the administrators through the administrator management interface, which is explained in detail in this document.

Privileges

Each administrator can have their own set of privileges which will determine what they are allowed to do in the control panel. Each of the available privileges is described below. Viewing Administrators

To see all of the administrators that currently exist in the database, click on the Manage Administrators link in the control panel interface. The page that comes up will show you all of the administrators that have access to the control panel. From this interface you can edit, delete, and view information about each administrator. Each of the columns is described below. Editing an Administrator

For security purposes, only the administrator themself can change their password.
